Rotherham’s Soft Landing Zone project supports overseas businesses looking to establish operations in the UK, explore the UK market or to use the UK as a base for further European activities. Additionally, the City Region was one of Britain’s first areas to be given Enterprise Zone status by the UK Government, a reflection of the region’s reputation as a hub for international business. In spring 2013, the Sheffield City Region launched an ambitious £77.3 million plan to boost skills and create thousands of new apprenticeships and training opportunities, helping businesses to secure the training programmes they need.
