The Sheffield local business community benefits greatly from having two higher education academic institutions in the city – Sheffield Hallam University and The University of Sheffield as well as a number of higher education colleges and other support organisation addressing the skills agenda.
Overall the region is Britain’s most concentrated and popular higher education destination outside London, with 12 universities less than an hour away providing more than 313,000 students and 92,000 graduates per year.
Sheffield is proud to enjoy one of the highest graduation retention rates in the country and also has a fantastic record in employability figures. Sheffield Hallam University communicated only in April 2013 that 88% of its graduates are in work or further study within six months of graduating.
